The Madison Scouts are pleased to announce their 2010 show production featuring Richard Rodgers’ Slaughter on Tenth Avenue and George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue.

Slaughter on Tenth Avenue comes from Rodgers and Hart’s On Your Toes which has been performed as a movie, on Broadway and as a ballet. It was performed by the Scouts in 1974, 1975, 1982 and 1989.

Rhapsody in Blue was written for solo piano and jazz band and combines elements of classical music with jazz-influenced effects. It was performed by the Madison Scouts in 1975, 1976 and 1985.

The Madison Scouts begin their 2010 DCI summer tour on Tuesday, June 22 in Louisville, KY. They first appear in Madison on Saturday, June 26th to headline the 58th Annual “Drums on Parade” at Breitenbach Stadium in Middleton, WI. This 11 corps premier show will feature some of the top corps in the activity, including:

The Scouts will perform at 30 competitions, 1 exhibition and 2 parades in 14 different states throughout North America. The 8 week season concludes at the DCI World Championship at Lucas Oil Field in Indianapolis, IN from August 12-14.
